Boxing legend Mike Tyson is no stranger to getting into altercations, whether it be with media reporters or his opponents. This has led many to criticize him for not conducting himself in a professional manner, but this wouldn’t have often worked due to Tyson’s brash and unapologetic nature.

However, it looks like the former heavyweight champion is a changed man in the way he handles criticism as he revealed what has made him make these changes.

Mike Tyson opens up about how he handles criticism

‘Iron Mike’ recently made an appearance on Fox News, where he was asked by Tucker Carlson about how he handled criticism now. Tyson then went into detail about how he went into a mental space of being ‘nobody’. He stated that while he was easily offended if he went onto this mental space he could take criticism.

This is certainly an interesting take by ‘Iron Mike‘. Moreover, this even surprised Carlson who was in awe of Tyson’s insights. He even praised the former champion for his deep words.

Following this, Carlson goes on to ask Tyson how he reminds himself of being a nobody, whilst the people around him think of him as an icon. ‘Kid Dynamite’ replies by claiming that god had given him everything and put him in this place.

God did this. I asked for this and this is what he gave me. It’s not like someone gave me something that I didn’t acquire. I wanted this life, I prayed for this life and I received it.” Tyson added.

Iron Mike has come a long way in understanding how to handle criticism. Despite being notorious for once being rude and easily offended, he has now matured and developed an understanding of how to better himself.
