It’s not even fight week and Oleksandr Usyk has taken it upon himself to entertain the public. However, in doing so, ‘The Cat’ seems to have attracted a statement from ‘Hitman,’ not the killing kind, but the popular video game franchise by the Danish developer IO Interactive. So, what did Usyk do to elicit a comment from a video game company?

Well, if you were watching yesterday’s launch press conference for the Usyk vs. Tyson Fury rematch, you know exactly what happened. However, if you weren’t, here’s a quick rundown: the Unified heavyweight champion Usyk showed up for the presser at London’s lavish Guildhall, dressed exactly as the protagonist, Agent 47, in the Hitman video game series.

Draped in Agent 47’s signature black suit, red tie, and black leather gloves which emphasize the character’s cold, professional demeanor, Usyk entered the venue, bald-headed and carrying a black briefcase to Franz Schubert’s “Ave Maria”. While in the game, Agent 47 takes out several targets, Usyk’s intentions weren’t that broad, his only target—Tyson Fury.

Since the press conference, the clip has gone viral across social media platforms, and numerous photos of Usyk in the outfit have emerged. However, it was the entrance clip that particularly grabbed the franchise’s attention. As it turns out, even the gaming world could not resist Usyk’s charm, as the company praised Usyk’s performance.

“Agent Usyk just made the ultimate entrance as 47!  Stepping into the Fury press conference with style. When the world of assassination meets the ring,” the company’s X handle wrote. However, this wasn’t the only bold move Usyk pulled in the presser.

Oleksandr Usyk trolls Tyson Fury with an autograph on…

Remember the briefcase? Well, that will come into play soon—turns out, it wasn’t just for show. After leaving everyone in awe with his attire, Oleksandr Usyk wanted to troll the former WBC heavyweight champion a bit. So, what did he do? He pulled out a picture of Fury getting punched in the face from the briefcase during their first fight and presented it to ‘The Gypsy King.’

Fury, ever the comedian, quipped, “I look like Shrek” as he signed it. Fury would later acknowledge their first fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he suffered his first career loss via a majority decision. “We did the fight in May, a great fight… but it’s in the past now. We’ve got to move on,” Fury said, building anticipation for the rematch later this year.

It appears Oleksandr Usyk scored a knockout with his entrance in the presser—which even got the game company talking. It set an exciting tone for the two-month wait that will ultimately culminate in heavy blows. What did you think of Usyk’s cosplay?
