British boxer Tommy Fury has gained quite the notoriety in the influencer boxing community over the past few months. Tommy ‘TNT’ who is known for being the brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, garnered significant attention through his victory over Jake Paul.

However, for YouTube sensation KSI‘s former trainer Viddal Riley, Fury seems to be more of a ‘side quest’ rather than a potential rival. While KSI has revealed that a fight with Fury is almost a done deal, Riley who recently knocked out Annes Taj in brutal fashion has bigger ambitions.

Why Viddal Riley thinks Tommy Fury is just a “side quest”?

In a recent interview with SkySports Boxing, Riley expressed that he perceives Fury as a “side quest” rather than a central focus in his pursuit of becoming an English champion. The 9-0 boxer emphasizes that his main mission lies in securing English titles and progressing within the traditional boxing world.

“Tommy Fury to me is like a side quest. He’s not a main mission. There’s a main mission like English Titles, that’s my main mission. He’s like a nice lucrative side quest that I don’t believe will happen. But if it makes sense and the fight can be made. I’ll pick up the cash,” he said.

Riley also highlighted his recent knockout victory over Anees Taj as an indicator of his own skill and potential. Riley confidently asserts that Taj would defeat Fury, with a strong conviction that Taj possesses the power to knock out Fury in the ring. “I would say this Anees Taj would beat Tommy Fury. Annes Taj would knock out Tommy Fury. 100 percent so he’s saying what level am I fighting at,” he added.

Riley’s characterization of Tommy Fury as a “side quest” reflects his perception of Fury’s current standing in the boxing world. While Riley thinks that Fury is a good draw, he won’t add any other accolade to his career. Moreover, he even questioned Tommy’s drawing power before his fight against Paul.

“Yes it’s true he’s getting payed a lot. A lot of people are watching his fights. But he’s not a draw. Go and check any of his fights against regular opponents in the traditional boxing world. There’s no pool,” said Riley.

According to Riley, Fury has not proved himself as a ‘draw’ while facing regular opponents. However, with the increased attention he has garnered from his fight against Paul, he is one of the top stars in the influencer community today. While it is unclear that the two will fight in the ring, this fight could prove to be a great opportunity for both fighters to up their levels.
