Floyd Mayweather might be feeling a little left out lately, especially with all the nail-biting, heart-pumping action that’s been going down in the ring these past few months. So, the legendary five-division champion took to social media a couple of hours ago, teasing a major fight announcement in the not-so-distant future.

Turning to Instagram, the undefeated megastar shared a poster for his exhibition bout. While it did not reveal the identity of his opponent, it did spare a few details Floyd’s devoted fans would love to learn about. As described in the poster, “Big announcement May 15. Stay tuned for the upcoming fight.”

The exhibition is likely to be held at the Big Bola Casino in Mexico, organized by Music Vibe, a music concert organizer. In a post on Instagram today, even the organizer shared the update about Floyd Mayweather’s next exhibition fight. They wrote, “The greatest of all time, ‘Money’ Floyd Mayweather is coming to Mexico! Get ready because Wednesday May 15th we will have the announcement for [his] next fight.”

Despite retiring from the sport back in 2017, ‘Money’ has been rather active in the ring! Whether it’s fighting influencers or well-known figures, Mayweather can’t seem to give up his boxing addiction. Regardless, who ‘Money’ is about to fight next will be an interesting revelation, but most likely, the opponent might be a Mexican.

Floyd Mayweather and the exhibition that got out of hand

Following his retirement, Floyd Mayweather has sailed through the low-risk fights against opponents like Logan Paul, Deji and more, making millions each time. However, there was one fight that threatened to jeopardize Mayweather’s entire legacy. In June last year, ‘Money’ fought John Gotti III in a pay-per-view exhibition bout in Florida.

During the fight, Mayweather toyed with the grandson of the famous crime boss, exchanging verbal jabs in the ring. Despite the referee’s warnings, both fighters kept insulting and clinching each other. So, the fight was promptly stopped, but Gotti wasn’t done! He went around the referee and started swinging at Mayweather.

It nearly started an all-out brawl in the venue, and both fighters were escorted to different locations. In November of the same year, Mayweather even revealed that he would rematch Gotti III in February this year. However, that fight never happened, and Floyd seems to have moved on to someone new.

With that said, Floyd Mayweather is gearing up to enter the ring once again to entertain his devoted fans. However, it would be interesting to see who his opponent could be. Will it be John Gotti III? Who do you think Mayweather is about to fight?
