Rumors spread fast on the internet. But when it involves a name as big as Logan Paul, they spread like wildfire. Social media went into meltdown after a viral post claimed that “YouTuber Logan Paul was fatally killed in a catastrophic helicopter crash on a packed Los Angeles street.” The post included a black-and-white image of ‘The Maverick’ and a dramatic caption suggesting that his death had been captured “live by a bystander.”

Logan Paul’s helicopter crash news debunked

The viral posts citing Paul’s “death” linked back to unverified websites. As we mentioned earlier, no legitimate source – not even Logan Paul‘s official social media – has mentioned any such event. The timing, however, is suspicious. The hoax began circulating after news broke about a recent helicopter crash in Los Angeles, which likely fueled the confusion.

Yet, this isn’t the first time Logan Paul’s name has been dragged into fake death reports. A few years back, another hoax claimed someone had died during a promotional stunt involving a helicopter and his energy drink brand, Prime. In that video, Paul handed a bottle to a skydiver who then jumped from a helicopter, sparking wild reactions online. “Did I just watch a man die?” one viewer even asked back then.

More information on the California helicopter crash

The real crash that likely sparked the rumor was a terrifying one, and it happened nowhere near Logan Paul’s orbit. According to Fox News Digital, the helicopter went down around 2 p.m. Saturday, in a Huntington Beach parking lot near Twin Dolphins Drive and Beach Boulevard. Witnesses captured chilling footage of the aircraft spinning out of control before crashing between a building and several palm trees.

Authorities confirmed that five people were hospitalized, two inside the helicopter and three pedestrians on the ground. “As of this time, the two people who were in the helicopter have been safely pulled from the wreckage, and three people on the street have sustained injuries,” a spokesperson for the Huntington Beach Fire Department later told the media.

The helicopter was linked to the Cars ’N Copters on the Coast event, scheduled for the following day. Local resident Tim Robinson, who recorded the crash, said, “At first I thought it was a movie. It seemed like a pretty crazy stunt to do. And it spun around a few times and slammed into that. It was crazy.”

So where does that leave Logan Paul? Safe, sound, and nowhere near a helicopter wreck. The death hoax appears to be yet another case of misinformation piggybacking off a real-world tragedy. It’s a grim reminder of how fast misinformation can snowball online, especially when celebrities are involved.
