The American boxer is slated to fight Asakura on September 25th, at the at the Rizin event. It will be held at Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

The Japanese fighter will be fighting for the first time inside a boxing ring. He even said, “’I am an MMA fighter, but I will take this opportunity and use it to raise my name and my value internationally. I will win this fight.”

Furthermore, the 30-year-old fights in the featherweight division. Asakura is 5’9” tall, and has a record of 14-3-0. Interestingly, it might become a bit tricky for Mayweather, as the Japanese fighter fights from a southpaw stance.

Asakura was first inclined toward fighting when he learned karate in elementary school. He started his MMA training with his brother while he was in high school. He first gained some recognition as an amateur fighter when he won his first fight under the Outsider brand of Fighting Network Rings. His amateur career holds a record of 9-1. 

Furthermore, he started his professional journey in 2012 when he inked a contract with DEEP promotion. Notably, he signed with RIZIN Fighting in 2018, which made him even more popular. He is also a popular figure on YouTube with more than 2.7 million subscribers. According to networthspot.com, all of this has accumulated him a net worth of $7.16 million. 

About His Brother Kai Asakura 

Kai and Mikuru were involved in street fights in their childhood before they got into Boxing. Kai arguably rose to fame in 2019, when he defeated Horiguchi in just 68 seconds. 

Notably, Kai is also a former Fighting Network Rings 132-pound champion. Currently, he competes as a bantamweight in the Rizin Fighting Federation.
