While Teofimo Lopez predicted DAZN’s doom, questioning Eddie Hearn‘s contribution to the sport as a promoter, Hearn felt Lopez was “completely obsessed“. In addition to lambasting Hearn, ‘The Takeover’ lately declared that Puerto Rican boxers were easy to beat. In this context, the 26-year-old fired his shots at Puerto Rican boxer Subriel Matias, suggesting he would tear Matias’ “butt up“.

On that note, after Matchroom signed Subriel, promoter Eddie Hearn requested ‘The Takeover’ to fight the Puerto Rican. In his latest interview, the 44-year-old emphasized that Lopez vs. Matias would be one of the best matches at 140 lbs.

Teofimo Lopez vs. Subriel Matias will put a “smile” on Eddie Hearn’s face

Speaking on The Porter Way Podcast, Teofimo Lopez claimed he would bear down Subriel Matias within four rounds if they were to fight. As a result, Matias encouraged Lopez to face the IBF Super-lightweight champion in March or April of 2024. While ‘The Takeover’ did not directly respond to Matias’ call-out, he later labeled the 31-year-oldthe softest fighter in the division” he could beat easily. At this, promoter Eddie Hearn hopes Lopez and Matias will share the ring.

I want him [Lopez] to fight all the big fighters at 140 lbs. Obviously, you’ve got the winner of Haney against Garcia. Just give me Teofimo Lopez for Subriel Matias. Please,” said Hearn in his latest interview. “If you’re watching this, Teofimo Lopez, please fight Subriel Matias. It will make me smile,” he added. Well, now that Hearn has sent his message to Lopez, hopefully, the latter would soon reveal whether or not he is serious about fighting Subriel.
