Regis Prograis is about to go up against Devin Haney on 9 December at the Chase Centre in San Francisco. However, that’s not the reason Regis has become the talk of the town. In a recent turn of events, Regis Prograis sent a comforting message to Haney’s bitter rival, Shakur Stevenson. Previously, ‘Sugar’ Stevenson faced Edwin De Los Santos, which is now being called one of the most boring bouts of the decade.

The same sentiment is further backed by the fact that the fight had one of the least punches thrown. What’s more, all the blame was put on ‘Sugar’ Stevenson due to his actions in the ring on that fateful night. Even ‘Sugar’ accepted his awful showing during the fight and promised to do better. So, while appearing in a recent interview with ES News, the Houston native shared some consoling words with Shakur Stevenson.

Regis Prograis claims there is nothing to worry about

During the interview with ES News, the reporter questioned Regis about his message to Shakur after his fight. In response, Rougarou suggested not to worry about the outcome because this kind of thing happens to a lot of good boxers. “I would be like, bro, don’t worry about it, we all have off nights, everybody has off nights,” said Regis.

Later in the interview, Regis suggested that Shakur would make a major comeback to showcase his true skills. “Don’t worry about that sh*t bro. You gonna come back, you know what I am saying. Like, you gonna come back the next fight,” said Regis. He also added that people will soon forget about the fight. “People will forget about that sh*t,” said Regis. Moreover, even Terence Crawford chimed in!

Terence Crawford’s message to Shakur Stevenson

Regis Prograis isn’t the only boxer who came to console the Newark native. After the fight concluded, Terence Crawford took to Instagram and left a comment on Shakur’s post, consoling the boxer. Claiming such things are all part of the sport, Terence Crawford asked Shakur to embrace the result and keep doing what he’s been doing.

“Part of the game bro! God give the chosen soldiers that can carry the most weight on they shoulders these tasks. Embrace it and keep bring great. It’s all part of your story,” ‘Bud’ Crawford wrote in the comment section. On a separate note, only time will tell if Shakur can redeem himself in his next fight.
