Alycia Baumgardner is in the battlefield. But unlike the exchange with Serrano, the one with Baumgardner gives the impression of a no-holds-barred showdown.

The rivalry with Serrano and Katie Taylor, over legacy or who’s the greatest, kept the relations on tenterhooks. So the last few days saw Serrano extending a hand of friendship and heaping praises on Shields. But just when it seemed that the beef had reached the final act, a fresh row erupted. It follows MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian‘s recent remarks on Shields and the possibility of a fight with Baumgardner. The Flint-born world champion is clearly unhappy.

The latest fracas began when Claressa Shields responded to Amanda Serrano’s tweet. Reacting to a post that spoke about Shields’ reactions to Alycia Baumgardner and Nakisa Bidarian’s latest interview, Serrano made it clear that she and her team at MVP ‘aren’t looking to disrespect anyone.’

But Shields wasn’t willing to hold it back. “You, MVP & Alycia, love throwing rocks & hiding y’all hands. Just leave me tf alone! Your stupid-a** promoter Nakisa stay tweeting saying false stuff 24/7, like I won’t expose the truth! They came in the game hating! Tried to give you & promote you off my hard work & name! If y’all so,” said the two-time Olympic gold medalist.

Soon, Alycia Baumgardner joined the party. Calling Shields ‘loud, emotional, and wrong,’ the super featherweight champion made it clear that her comments weren’t personal. They were just a response to a question, and she’s not afraid to stand by her words. She drew a sharp contrast between them. While she’s focused on building a legacy through discipline and truth, Shields is more about drama and noise.

Additionally, Claressa Shields pointed out that Baumgardner is too small to fight her. She also mocked the idea of Bidarian offering a big payday and emphasized that she’s the one making real money and breaking records. “Nakisa sitting there “oh Claressa is 190” then you “if she wants to make the biggest pay day of her life” YOU AINT NEVER MADE NO WHERE NEAR THE MONEY I’ve MADE!” Shields said.

Bottom line: Shields perhaps feels fed up and targeted, and she’s not having it.

For the record, the beef between Claressa Shields and Alycia Baumgardner is not something new. They have been at loggerheads for some time. But a fight, despite the callouts, remained out of bounds primarily on account of the sheer weight differences.
