In the lead-up to the fight, Ngannou is a massive underdog. So, he might have called on some family members to show some support. Top Rank Boxing recently turned to X (formerly Twitter) to share a clip of Ngannou’s family celebrating the fight. The caption of the tweet read, “@Francis_Ngannou having a pre-fight moment with his family.” Surprisingly, the celebrations did not sit well with the boxing world, as fans took to the comment section to express their disapproval.

Ahead of Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury, a clip of celebrations attracts skepticism

In the clip in question, Ngannou’s family can be seen dancing and celebrating the biggest fight of his career. While the moment was wholesome for Ngannou and his family, the boxing world did not see it in the same way.

One user asserted how can anyone take this fight seriously. It’s worth mentioning that before the fight began, many had speculated Fury wasn’t taking the fight seriously. Instead, Fury was focusing on the fight with Oleksandr Ustk in late December.

Someone else suggested Ngannou’s family is celebrating the payday Fury gave Ngannou. Notably, there have not been any official numbers released publicly. Some reports suggest Ngannou could walk out with almost $ 50 million from the fight.

Another user questioned if Ngannou brought his entire village to the fight. It’s worth mentioning that before signing the contract, Ngannou had asked the Saudi organizers to fly his family to the event. So they can be present in the audience of the big fight. It’s also the first time Ngannou’s family would attend any of Ngannou’s fights.

With mere moments from the fight, Ngannou’s family seems happy and confident about the fight. However, the responses from the boxing world do not reflect the same. What do you think? Is Ngannou’s family celebrating too soon?
