Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez is currently one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. Despite his loss to Dmitry Bivol earlier this year, he has been a force in the middleweight division even garnering an 8-fight winning streak before his upset loss.

This has made him quite rich with a staggering net worth of $180 million. However, Alvarez doesn’t like to forget his roots and culture. In an interview with Graham Bensinger, the Mexican boxer revealed despite earning a lot of money in his career, he felt like he would spoil his daughter by giving her everything she wanted.

He stated that at first; he wanted to provide for his daughter, the things he couldn’t afford. However, he realized that it would be a mistake. “When I started having everything, money all those kinds of things. I always said I’m going to give my daughter what I didn’t have, and I gave her everything. There was a moment when I said I’m making a mistake.” he said.

He later claimed that it would be a mistake because this would lead to his daughters relying on him for everything, rather than becoming independent. “I’m making a mistake because life is not like this. You’re gonna turn them. You’re going to make your children dependent on something, which is you.” He added.
