People can’t stop talking about Devin Haney! He went from the guy who barely edged out against Vasiliy Lomachenko to one of the best boxers in the 140-pound division with his debut. Fans and pundits alike have commended Haney’s blockbuster performance against Regis Progrias. Leonard Ellerbe also had similar thoughts about Haney. But it could not convince Ellerbe that Haney had a chance against Gervonta Davis.

Several potential opponents have been proposed after Haney absolutely schooled Regis last Saturday night. However, a comparison between Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney is still the leading topic among fans. So, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions turned to X (formerly Twitter) to express his thoughts on Davis’ superiority over Devin Haney despite Saturday night’s performance.

Leonard Ellerbe compliments Haney for building a brand

Recently, Ellerbe made his way to X, responding to a tweet from a user who was complimenting Haney and his team. So, Ellerbe claimed Haney and his team have done a good job building a brand around him to make millions. “They’ve done a great job building their brand with being their own bosses and making M’s,” wrote Ellerbe.

However, he went on to claim ‘Tank’ is still better than Haney. “Tank is just on another level, that’s all, and he has the best team in boxing,” wrote Ellerbe. The CEO of Mayweather Promotions concluded by revealing he recently watched an interview where Haney’s team was planning to fight two boxers Davis has already beaten. While Ellerbe proclaimed Davis’ superiority, Haney recently spoke about Davis.

Devin Haney claims Gervonta Davis is the best

Regardless of how much each fighter might want to fight each other, the potential fight still remains a pipe dream. Moreover, both fighters have been involved in a sort of back-forth online. However, according to an article from Boxing Scene, Haney surprisingly had only nice things to say about Gervonta Davis.

“He’s an all-time great,” said Haney, per Boxing Scene. Despite his comment about Davis, Haney’s desire to fight Davis seems to remain unfulfilled. What’s more, Bill Haney recently called out Davis, asking him to send them a respectable contract that shows he was interested in fighting his son.

However, the bigger question is – do you think Davis would fight Haney anytime soon? When they do fight, who do you think would win? Tell us in the comments below.
