Boxing’s brightest prospect, Curmel Moton, is set to enter the ring for the third time against Anthony Cuba on March 30 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. And he has recently issued a warning for his upcoming opponent. Featuring in a stacked card, Moton and Cuba will kick start the night that will define Keith Thurman’s return.

Floyd Mayweather’s 17-year-old prodigy will fight in the undercard of Tim Tszyu vs. Keith Thurman. The fight will follow Moton’s two first-round knockout wins against Ezequiel Flores and Hunter Turbyfill, respectively. Given such a track record, any opponent would be cautious. However, to intimidate Cuba further, Moton hopped on social media today!

Curmel Moton claims he sparred for seven days straight

Turning to X (formerly Twitter), ‘Big Deal’ Moton claimed, “[I] Sparred [for] 7 days straight and felt sharp asf. March 30th, I’m finna do sum bad to em.” The young prospect, hailed as the next Floyd Mayweather, has heavy expectations on his shoulders, especially since every top fighter has endorsed Moton at one point or another. 

Even though Moton won’t turn 18 until June this year, he has managed to develop the mindset of a seasoned veteran of the sport. It was especially evident after his debut fight when Moton claimed he felt ready to fight two-time world featherweight champion Leigh Wood. While that fight obviously did not happen, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe, has high hopes for the 2-0 fighter.

Leonard Ellerbe on Curmel Moton

According to a February 1 report from Boxing Scene, Leonard Ellerbe claimed while confirming Moton’s next fight date, “He’s a tremendous young fighter. We’re expecting major, major things of him moving forward. He’ll be very busy this year. He’ll be a world champion within a year.” And, of course, Floyd Mayweather had a big role to play in Moton’s success.

Ellerbe suggested, “You have to give Floyd the credit. Floyd is a genius in understanding what star talent looks like.” Ellerbe praised Floyd for shaping Moton’s amateur and pro career, claiming no one else could have done a better job than Floyd. After all that, Ellerbe just wants to “roll up my sleeves and do my job.”

With that said, Curmel Moton seems confident about fighting the slightly more experienced Anthony Cuba (7-0-2) on March 30. However, only time will tell whether Moton will be able to continue his first-round knockout terror. Do you think Moton will win?
