What happens when you lose 20 days of your memory? Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx knows this all too well. Over a year after his mysterious hospitalization, Foxx has finally shared the harrowing story that left him with a 20-day memory gap. And get this, Claressa Shields, the undisputed middleweight champion, has one word to describe her reaction!

Not too long ago, Foxx was captured in a video speaking to a cohort of people in a Phoenix cafe when he detailed the entire mind-bending incident. He said, “Look, April 11 last year. Bad headache. I asked my boy for an Advil”. Foxx, the perfect showman, snapped his fingers dramatically, recalling, “I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything”.

The actor revealed his sister Deidra Dixon and daughter, Corinne Foxx, rushed him to the doctor’s office rapidly. At the appointment, he got a cortisone shot, which, as Web MD explains, helps reduce your body’s natural defensive response and eases symptoms like swelling and allergic reactions.

Building more mystery behind what happened to him, Foxx pointed at his head and told the people that another doctor said, “Something’s going on up there”. However, when the time came for the specifics of the incident, Foxx was hesitant, saying, “I won’t say it on camera”. After this clip started circulating on various social media platforms, Shields quickly discovered it and reacted by writing, “Crazy”.

Claressa Shields missed out on a standup special from Jaime Foxx

According to a March 4, 2024 report from Variety, Foxx received the Producers Award alongside his Foxxhole Productions partner Datari Turner from the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) for his movies ‘They Cloned Tyrone’ and ‘The Burial’. During the award ceremony, Foxx had originally spoken about how and when he would tell the story of what happened to him.

Foxx suggested everybody wants to know what happened and is willing to spill all the beans, but he has to do it his way. He added, “I’m gonna do it in a funny way. We’re gonna be on the stage. We’re gonna get back to the standup sort of roots”. Foxx had even come up with a name for the standup, ‘What Had Happened Was’ while joking about the rumors about it on the internet.

One rumor claimed that the person seen after Foxx’s hospitalization wasn’t actually him, instead, it was a clone of himself. So, Jaime quipped, “I dove out of a car to save this Black woman’s purse. That ain’t no damn Jamie, that’s a clone.” Regardless, all of this was supposed to be on standup special, which now, of course, Claressa Shields missed out on.

Jokes aside, what happened to Jaime Foxx seems extremely serious and hopefully, he has completely recovered from it. For now, he has returned to his normal self and daily life. But the real question is, what did you think happened to Foxx?
