Three-weight undisputed champion Claressa Shields has launched a tirade of insults against Most Valuable Promotions, the brainchild of YouTube star Jake Paul. This comes after Paul’s right-hand man, Nakisa Bidarian, made some comments about a potential fight between Shields and their newly signed boxer, Alycia Baumgardner

In an interview not that long ago, Paul’s business partner claimed the two-time Olympic gold medalist was too heavy to arrange a fight against Baumgardner. He suggested that if the 30-year-old wants a fight against his boxer, she will have to come down in weight. This seems to have ticked off Shields, as she went on a frenzy of insults.

Meanwhile, MVP’s biggest boxer, Amanda Serrano, chimed in to de-escalate the situation by trying to level with Shields through a tweet. She claimed neither MVP nor Baumgardner were trying to disrespect her, noting, “As a team we are doing huge things & wish Claressa & anyone else not part of us all the best.”

She further added, “Making a fight offer isn’t us disrespecting her in any way.” Despite her assurances, Shields didn’t calm down. “You, MVP & Alycia love throwing rocks & hiding y’all hands,” Shields wrote back. ‘T-Rex’ alleged that Bidarian continues to make false statements about her on social media, so she is determined to “expose the truth.”

Shields even asked Serrano why she gets dragged into conversations, highlighting Bidarian’s initial remarks about her weight. Shields also added, “Fight each other! Y’all are closer in weight! 10 pounds ain’t it!?” This seems to have pushed Serrano over the edge, as she decided to take a stand to defend herself and her promotion.

Amanda Serrano asks Claressa Shields to go her separate path

Serrano inked a deal with MVP back in September 2021 and hasn’t looked back since. She often appears in the company’s promotional videos on social media and seems to have gotten closer to Paul himself. After Claressa Shields’ constant attacks, Serrano wrote back, “Claressa, you are one of the best, and I will always admire what you have accomplished.”

However, she isn’t willing to stand still, as Shields continues to make “disrespectful comments about my company, my promoter, my accomplishments, and the people I care about.” She added, “It’s time to recognize this and move forward on separate paths. I will always be a big fan of your in-ring accomplishments. Stay Well.”

Shields quickly caught wind of this and retorted with her own response to Serrano. “I’ve [taken] my Stand with you. I’ve never once disrespected your accomplishments,” she wrote back. Shields alleged that Serrano likes to take subtle digs at her in “a nice way,” but now that she is raising her voice against it, Serrano has a problem with it.

The undefeated boxer also suggested that MVP was disrespectful towards her from day one, and she tried to reach out to Serrano privately about it. However, Shields claims the disrespect didn’t stop, concluding, “Now we are here: I’m not one of the best! I AM THE BEST! Focus on your fight.” Amanda Serrano is scheduled to fight Katie Taylor in a trilogy fight on July 11th.

That said, it appears Amanda Serrano’s serious step to stand up to Claressa Shields didn’t really have the effect she might have been looking for. But it shows how quickly things can escalate if it involves Shields. What do you make of the ordeal? Who is in the wrong?
