Jermell Charlo, the undisputed light middle-weight champion, traveled two weight divisions to face Canelo. Something that got him the label of an underdog going into the fight despite them being the same age and starting their careers at a similar time. However, Charlo’s chant of “I am a Lion” seemed to rub Canelo the wrong way. In response, Canelo delivered a comical answer that left the spectators holding their stomachs with laughter.

What animal is Canelo Alvarez?

As the press conference drew to a close, both fighters had to answer one question. “You tell us why they need to tune in to Showtime PPV on Saturday night and why Jermell Charlo/Canelo Alvarez is going to win that fight.” Charlo confidently answered first, “Because I am ready for whatever. I am a mot******king lion. I am a lion.”

When Canelo’s turn came, he seemed humble as usual but had a cunning plan in mind to get back at Charlo. He began by saying people should tune in to watch the fight because it is going to be an epic matchup.

The six-division world champion claimed that Canelo would win the fight! Though Charlo may cause some issues for ‘Cinnamon,’ in the end, Canelo will break him down to take the win. De La Hoya stated that the main reason behind his prediction is that Charlo is moving up two-weight divisions to fight Canelo, which is not easy. However, only time will tell what happens on Saturday night.

With the bout right around the corner, both fighters seem ready to get in the ring. But this hilarious incident during the press conference added a bit of humor to the tense situation. What do you think will happen on Saturday night? Who will take home the trophy?
