YouTuber turned-boxer Jake Paul isn’t happy about what Canelo Alvarez did to him in the span of a few days. Now, the ‘Problem Child’ has taken it upon himself to mock the Mexican Superstar on social media. Earlier this month, reports revealed that Canelo would fight Paul in May. Even Ring Magazine confirmed that the planned Terence Crawford fight was off.
However, in the biggest twist, new reports revealed that the Mexican superstar had, in fact, signed a four-fight deal with Saudi Boxing Chief Turki Alalshikh. Canelo will now fight IBF super middleweight champion William Scull in May to unify all the belts, and the Terence Crawford fight will go as previously planned in September.
Amid this, Paul seems to have been left scorned by the entire ordeal. After ranting about exposing Canelo for backing out of their fight, ‘The Problem Child’ seems to have used the Mexican culture to mock Canelo Alvarez. In an X post recently shared by Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, he can be seen dancing to a song performed by a complete Mariachi band while wearing a sombrero.

Ruiz, who famously defeated Anthony Joshua in 2019, boasts a record of 35-2-1 and has fought top names like Luis Ortiz and Joseph Parker. Meanwhile, Paul, 11-1-0 as a boxer, recently defeated 58-year-old Mike Tyson. Paul had been in advanced talks to fight Canelo in May 2025 for a $100 million payday, but Alvarez instead signed a four-fight deal with Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Season. In response, Paul criticized Canelo as a “money-hungry squirrel,” fueling further debate about the influencer’s place in professional boxing.
That said, Jake Paul is clearly rattled by how Canelo Alvarez outmaneuvered him. His video hints that this could be the beginning of an intense rivalry—one that might eventually lead to a fight down the line. What do you think?
