Canelo Alvarez gets his own state in his hometown

The statue was unveiled by Alvarez in his hometown of Guadalajara. Moreover, the whole city was present to witness the unveiling by their hometown hero, who has given them hope and will. The most notable boxer with a statue was none other than Muhammad Ali. The former heavyweight champion is widely considered to be the greatest boxer of all time. Therefore, it is only fitting that he has a statue made after him.

The statue was made back in 2o11 by Michael Kalish. The 22-foot-high sculpture in Los Angeles consists of 1,300 punching bags, 6.5 miles of stainless steel cable, and 2,500 pounds of aluminum pipe. Other boxers who have their statues include Deontay Wilder, Joe Louis, and Davey Moore.

However. there is one statute that does not belong to a boxer but is just as impactful. The Rocky Statue in Philadelphia is considered to be the most iconic boxing monument in the world. The statue was made for Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky, considered to be the best boxing franchise of all time. Moreover, it has become the centerpiece of the city, with many visiting it on tour.
