Former kickboxer turned social media celebrity Andrew Tate has gained fame for all the wrong reasons. His controversial views on women and their role in society have made him a polarizing figure in the public eye. However, even if people disagree with Top G, it is hard to ignore his accomplishments as a competitor.

Tate was an accomplished kickboxer and a former world champion holding the ISKA cruiserweight championship. This status gave him a lot of knowledge about the inner workings of the sport. Moreover, he even discovered the dark side of the sport as he revealed his experiences related to the match-fixing happening in kickboxing.

The ‘Mafia’ kickboxer appeared on a podcast with Anthony Pompliano and made a revelation about match-fixing. He detailed an incident in Iraq where a member of their parliament organized a kickboxing fight to help him become the sports minister.

“I was in Iraq, I was in Baghdad about three years ago. There was a member of parliament wanting to become the sports minister and to become sports minister. He wanted to fill a stadium and have a kickboxing fight in front of everyone.” He said.

Moreover, there have been many recorded incidents of match-fixing in boxing and kick-boxing across the world. Just like any other sport, combat sports are not perfect. However, it is still relatively new in mainstream culture and as it grows, so will its credibility.
