Featherweight world champion Amanda Serrano appears to have taken bold steps to silence her critics on social media. The 36-year-old southpaw is gearing up for a highly anticipated rematch with her rival, Katie Taylor, set for November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Serrano aims to claim all of Taylor’s titles and avenge her prior loss.

In the interim, Serrano has decided to put an end to the online trolls and naysayers by taking advantage of a feature on X to sidestep negativity. Signed to Most Valuable Promotions, owned by social media star and boxer Jake Paul, Serrano will share the spotlight on fight night with Paul himself, as he faces off against boxing legend Mike Tyson in the main event. Regardless, Serrano expressed her frustration with all the unwanted interactions with people online. “X has great features I wasn’t aware of. When I tweet It’s for my followers to know what I’m doing or what’s happening. Lots of ppl love talking nonsense so with this feature I don’t have to read them.”

Serrano has taken control of her Twitter interactions by limiting who can comment on her posts—restricting it to people she follows or has specifically approved on the platform. She also suggested that making the quick change made her life better, as she addressed all her fans with a message. 

“Life just got better lol. To my loyal ones, I love you & I’m sure you understand. Instead of me getting into it with them I silence them. I’m Loving this,” she wrote. Meanwhile, Serrano shared her take on Taylor’s massive achievement in women’s boxing.

Amanda Serrano laughs off Katie Taylor’s achievement

Just recently, Boxing Kingdom revealed that Taylor is set to make the biggest purse in women’s boxing history. “Katie Taylor will receive the largest payday in the history of women’s boxing, when she fights Amanda Serrano in a rematch on November 15th,” they wrote in an X post. Taylor, of course, defeated Serrano in their prior encounter, so she can expect to get the lion’s share of the purse. As to how much she will make, Boxing Kingdom claimed, “Katie will make in excess of $6.1M US. The event promoter is Jake Paul’s MVP Promotions.” This doesn’t seem to have sat well with Serrano, who responded to the tweet, writing, “Mine is bigger lol.” However, this wasn’t the end of her response. 

In a later tweet, she wrote, “[People] have been going at it on what Katie & I are making for our fight. She’s making 6 Million & totally deserves it. I’ll make more because my deal is different than hers.” Serrano claimed it wasn’t about their upcoming fight—rather it was about being more marketable, noting that Taylor is a private person and isn’t interested in anything other than the fight. 

“I’m a bit of both but have a business mentality so I market [myself] differently, thus making me the highest paid in the game Ever,” she added. Serrano also highlighted that she did four commercials in just the last year, sold out four events, and appeared in five magazine covers, noting, “These things count on a Pay Scale & Negotiations.”

That being said, it appears Amanda Serrano is done with all the criticism she receives online and was forced to take drastic action to restrict who can interact with her posts. Whether she will reverse these changes is yet to be seen. What do you think about Serrano’s move to restrict critics?
