Claressa Shields just leaked DMs with Amanda Serrano on social media! The former undisputed featherweight champion, however, doesn’t seem mad about it. ‘The Real Deal’ Serrano is coming off a second-round stoppage victory over Florida’s Stevie Morgan at the Amalie Arena in Tampa. Shields, on the other hand, has her next bout against Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse coming up on the 27th of July at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

In the meantime, Shields seemed a little too eager to prove she was the GWOAT, even if it meant leaking Serrano’s personal messages with the entire world on social media.

Amanda Serrano stays true to her word

Earlier today, Boxing Kingdom hopped on X to share the screenshot Shields originally leaked of DMs with Amanda Serrano. They wrote, “Claressa Shields has released screenshots of private messages that show Amanda Serrano recognises her as the GWOAT”.

In the DMs, one of Serrano’s messages responding to Shields read, “There’s a reason why you’re the GWOAT it’s because you are. No f**king one comes a close second”. Shields, the most accomplished female boxer in the world, has won two golds in the Olympics and achieved undisputed status in two weight divisions, among other feats.

Although there was never a doubt about her being the GWOAT, but after this screenshot started making the rounds, Serrano quickly doubled down on her statement. Claiming she has always shown respect to Shields, and “I will never not. I’ve told the world @Claressashields is amazing”.

She later confessed that she never shies away from giving credit where credit is due, adding, “I’m in my own lane and if I don’t diss my opponents I won’t disrespect her”. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time these two mammoths of female boxing have shown support for each other.

Claressa Shields reacts to Serrano’s fight cancellation

Back in March, Amanda Serrano was supposed to square off against Nina Meinke in Puerto Rico on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Ryan Bourland. But due to an eye injury, she was found unfit to fight by the Puerto Rican Boxing Commission. ‘The Real Deal’ later expressed her disappointment because of the incident on X, which received a quick response from Shields.

“I’m crying wtf! I’m so sorry @Serranosisters”, Shields wrote in response. Serrano acknowledged the response and again recognized Shields as the GWOAT. This led to yet another response from Shields, who wrote, “I can’t wait to see you back”, while wishing for a speedy recovery for the Puerto Rican boxer. “We all know what you were gonna do for Puerto Rico”, Shields added.

With that said, it seems the two queens of boxing continue to support each other as they achieve greater and greater things in the sport. Pretty soon Shields will enter the ring again, and a heartfelt message from Serrano will be waiting for her after the fight.
