Floyd Mayweather amassed success in all spheres of life except his love life. The American boxer, who prevailed against every opponent inside the ring, couldn’t triumph over love when he found out that his close friend, Ray J, had entangled up with his love interest, Princess Love Norwood. The story took the world by storm, and a decade has passed since. After broken friendships and new bonds, Ray J now looks to fix things with ‘TBE’.

Ray J, real name William Ray Norwood Jr., recounted the story of how he met Princess Love while on an appearance on Shannon Sharpe‘s Club Shay Shay podcast. The American rapper mentioned that he met the love of his life through Mayweather, 47 when she was still romantically involved with the famed boxer. He said, “It was weird because I really liked her and she was still kind of like in a situation with P.B. [Floyd Mayweather].”

Then, he pointed out the dynamics of a relationship and how it affects a friendship. Unfortunately for Ray J, his love story with Princess J came at the price of his friendship with the 50-0 record holder. But he still persisted and continued with the Love & Hip Hope actress, as he declared, “Because I loved her. He [Floyd Mayweather] didn’t love her.”

Ray J, who once played the piano for Mayweather in a pre-fight special before the latter took on Victor Ortiz, admitted that the two didn’t have a strained dynamic. However, their once-booming friendship was no more. The McComb native disclosed to the former NFL tight end, “I’ve seen him out and it’s all love. I don’t have any issues and he doesn’t either. But our friendship is not there no more. Not that he gives a f*ck.”

Notably, Mayweather and Princess Love’s romance first blossomed when he was struggling in his relationship with fiancée Shantel Jackson. He promoted Princess Love extensively as part of ‘The Money Team’. And she would later flaunt the expensive gifts that the ‘Pretty Boy’ would often bring her.

Soon, the dynamic between Princess Love and Ray J would also catch fire, which 50 Cent exposed to the public in a series of Instagram posts. That spelled the end of Mayweather and Ray J’s friendship. But as Ray J and Princess Love have filed for divorce, it seems the two old friends finally might have a chance to reconcile.

Ray J believed that the breakdown of their friendship happened a while back. The songwriter stressed that Mayweather would have mellowed down by now. All he needed was an opportunity to sit and talk now. He continued, “I got nothing but love for [Floyd Mayweather], and that’s so long ago, I’m sure he’s good now.”

“I’m sure if we sat down and talk, we’ll probably be super cool now. And I’m sure that that might happen after this interview right because— motherf*cker, everybody watch your sh*t,” he quipped. It remains to be seen how Mayweather will react to the news of Ray J and Princess Love finally splitting up and whether he will embrace his old friend now.
