There was a ray of hope for Adrien Broner as he prepared alongside Gervonta Davis and Calvin Ford for the Blair Cobbs fight last weekend. However, after taking one of the worst beatings of his career and losing a tooth, things aren’t looking good for ‘The Problem’ Broner. Despite this, the former world champion has shown a fighter’s spirit. How?

Well, he has promised to come back! After getting dropped twice by Cobbs and losing the fight via unanimous decision, Broner’s hope for big fights might be in the gutters. Despite that, at 34, the Cincinnati native is adamant about making a comeback to the fight scene, something he revealed through a social media post today!

Adrien Broner sees his mistakes

On one hand, an arrogant and loud mouth Broner had threatened gun violence upon Cobbs during their press conference earlier this month, but after this loss, his attitude has seen a sudden shift. Turning to Instagram, he shared a picture of himself as he wrote, “God sent me a message and I see he isn’t done with me”.

Accepting that he has been doing the wrong things by “tarnishing all the blessings and chances he has been giving me”, Broner promises he will set out on the right path by taking advantage of the opportunities in front of him. Broner added, “I see everything more [clearly] and I have a better understanding with myself ‘The Problem’ will be back soon”.

Broner originally made his comeback to boxing in June 2023 against Bill Hutchinson, a fight he won via unanimous decision. However, after a devastating loss to Manny Pacquiao in 2019, he had nearly given up, but hopefully his latest loss wouldn’t have a similar effect on ‘The Problem’. Meanwhile, the former world champion has explained why he lost the fight against Cobbs last weekend.

‘The Problem’ had a body problem it seems

Since his latest loss, many in the community have revived the talks about Broner’s retirement. After all, it was one of the more embarrassing performances from the former world champion. Even during the fight he was gun shy, scared of how Cobbs may counter his attacks. For every punch Broner had landed, Cobbs had landed four.

So, a retirement discussion isn’t far-fetched. However, ‘The Problem’ has an explanation for why he lost the fight in such a saddening fashion. On June 8, the Cincinnati native took to his Instagram story, stating, “Elbow fractured, shoulder torn, but I fought through it”. However, whether these claims are true or just an excuse is yet to be seen!

With his latest loss, Adrien Broner seems to have turned a new leaf in life. But will this path to self improvement last long? Or will the ‘The Problem’ start causing problems for himself again?
