16-year-old Tom Platz left bike rides for a gym comeback

Quadfather had once revealed how people barely give time for their physique to get some rest. In fact, he pointed out to his fans that everyone goes through a phase where they cannot improve themselves at any length. “One of the things you got to remember is that everyone even Arnold gets sticking points. Sticking points are not only unique to you,” he said. Platz further mentioned that when he had something similar happen back when he was only 16, he understood the importance of having a proper recuperating time.

Platz shared the story from his youth when he had hit his plateau and could not press more than 250-275 lbs. For a little while, Platz left the gym in frustration and ended up riding a bike. However, soon after when he returned back, he could do as much as 300 lbs at once. He then understood how recovery time can have much more benefits than one can think of. Moreover, Platz also emphasized the fact that overdoing training can have its demerits. “You’re actually destroying yourself,” Tom Platz revealed.

Much like Dorian Yates’s philosophy about resting for better productivity, Tom Platz promotes similar guidance in the community. He has also been extremely keen on making a great bond between himself and his fans throughout his career. Hence, years later, motivated by his resurfaced old video, the bodybuilder opened up another option for his fans to talk to him.
