John Goodman is not unknown to the audience as Dan Conner in the comedy series Roseanne. While grandmoms would remember him for his sitcoms, the youngsters would recognize him for his voiceover of Sulley in Monsters, Inc. He is regarded as one of the greatest actors who was never nominated for the Academy Awards. Apart from his acting prowess, Goodman was also known for his huge size.

The Righteous Gemstones star weighed over 400 lbs in late 2000 before he took up his fitness journey seriously. Ever since, Goodman had shedded over 200 lbs stunning his fans. His latest pictures while attending a Television event gave a glimpse of his fit physique.

John Goodman’s recent pictures from Monte Carlo TV Festival 

The 71-year-old character actor appeared at the Monte Carlo Television Festival to preside over the show as a jury. But what shocked the fans is his slim frame. He graced the show in a black blazer, beige pants, and yellow tie. However, he isn’t his old self when it comes to his physique. From being obese, Goodman now flaunts his fit physique after losing over 200 lbs.

But the fitness journey wasn’t an easy ride for the actor. Describing the secret behind his massive weight loss, Goodman earlier confessed, “I just stopped eating all the time. I’d have a handful of food and it’d go to my mouth. I was just eating all the time. I was just eating alcoholically.

Further, he regulated his alcohol consumption before turning sober in 2007 after struggling with the addiction for 30 years. Though he constantly tried various ways to reduce weight, he would eventually gain the lost pounds, once he is back to his unhealthy lifestyle. So he tried to mend his ways in 2007 by following a healthy diet and fitness regime.

Roseanne actor’s special diet

In 2011 the actor took to the Mediterranean diet after advice from his trainee Mackie Shilstone. It mainly involves a plant-based diet like fruits and vegetables, olive oil, and reduced consumption of red meat according to the trainer. “It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your a** and figure out what you’re going to eat next… I wanted to live better,The Flintstones actor once mentioned.
