Brian Shaw confirms Hafthor Bjornsson will be part of the 2024 SMOE

On 23rd April, Brian Shaw, took to his YouTube channel to unveil the lineup of 14 out of 16 formidable athletes slated to compete in Loveland, CO, from August 16-18, 2024. The announcement sent shockwaves through the strongman community, igniting excitement for what promises to be an epic showdown of raw power and determination.

Shaw revealed the official participants’ names: “Hafthor Bjronsson, Mitchell Hooper, Tom Stoltman, Evans Singleton, Trey Mitchell, Thomas Evans, Bobby Thomsons, Alexi Novakov, Matt Ragg, Lucas Hatton, Luke Stoltman, Aivars Smaukstelis, Paolo Kordiyaka, and Austin Andrade.” Shaw added, “Austin was the winner of the Shaw Classic Open last year that got him his direct spot.” In his YouTube video, Shaw emphasized the meticulous process behind selecting the competitors, highlighting the importance of integrity and fairness in decision-making.

Beside Hafthor ‘The Mountain’ Bjornsson, he revealed that the roster was packed with powerhouse names such as Mitchell Hooper, Tom Stoltman, and Evans Singleton, with each participant bringing a unique blend of strength and skill to the table.
