As the festive season arrives and everyone celebrates with their families, the 2023 Mr. Olympia winner, Derek Lunsford has decided to join in and share a family picture with his fans. Only weeks before the commencement of this year’s Mr. Olympia, the bodybuilder had shared the news of his pregnant wife with the world. And now that he has won the title, the couple seems excited about the arrival of their baby.

Earlier, Lunsford had revealed to Hany Rambod his happiness in finding out how Chris Bumstead was also awaiting a baby with his partner, Courtney King. Now, on Christmas Eve, the Olympia winner and his wife shared a photo to update the fitness world with a wholesome image.

Derek Lunsford and his pregnant wife, Jhelsin Mabaga shared an Instagram post where the couple was seen wearing black outfits. In the photo, Jhelsin’s baby bump was clearly stealing the spotlight. The overall photo depicted Lunsford’s happy face and the Christmas spirit was seen aplenty. In the caption, the couple wrote, “Merry Christmas Eve”.

However, not to overlook their dog, Nala, whom Jhelsin holds in her hand, was mentioned in the caption as well. It said, “Nala’s bookings are open for 2024 if anyone wants to hire her as a doggy model.” The happy and humble photo set the holiday vibes and fans could perceive the bond between the family.

Derek Lunsford has always been quite vocal about the significance of his wife in his life. When asked in an interview once, the bodybuilder reflected on the kind of support that he receives from her.

In one of his interviews, Lunsford had once commented, “I also want to give praise to my wife she’s been the backbone to all of this I mean she’s you know deep in being pregnant right now we’re going to have our first child um January 1st.” He deliberately made it clear that his wife has had a big role in motivating the bodybuilder when he is in pursuit of titles in his career.
