In a recent interview, the 64-year-old actor talked about working with the bodybuilding icon after True Lies. Besides revealing how much Schwarzenegger enjoyed his time on set, Tom Arnold also had a hilarious story involving potholes, the Terminator actor, and fans.
Why he lets Arnold Schwarzenegger take the lead
During the exclusive interview with the official Netflix site Tudum, the reporter asked if Tom Arnold and Arnold Schwarzenegger had “any fun times on set?” Despite not sharing scenes. Schwarzenegger’s True Lies co-star said he and the 75-year-old “went for a bicycle ride.” For the Terminator actor, it’s become a tradition to explore every city he travels to on a bicycle. So the duo kept the streak going.

“We rode out into traffic in downtown Toronto,” revealed the 64-year-old. However, the actor also explained why he lets Arnie lead the way every time they go on a ride. “I was behind him because I always ride behind him… that way when he goes down, I’ll know where the pothole is,” Tom Arnold hilariously explained.

Besides, the 75-year-old also likes to take the lead. “He wasn’t afraid to get right out into the intersection. People were freaking out,” he said. Toronto residents couldn’t believe the “Terminator” was riding a bicycle in their city, and Schwarzenegger loved the attention he got, according to Tom Arnold. The latter said that working with his old friend, was quite exciting.
Tom Arnold felt happy for his friend
While describing his “quirky character,” in FUBAR, the comedian said he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to star in the show. “No matter what it was, I going to do it because I wanted to go up and see Arnold,” the 64-year-old said during the interview.
He also felt “very, very happy,” to see how excited the seven-time Mr. Olympia was to return to acting. Thirty years after working with James Cameron, Tom Arnold felt special to be part of Schwarzenegger’s first TV show.
