Cutler found football training harder than hitting the gym

I put an effort but I don’t feel like I put in a lot of effort to do what I did as Mr. Olympia, and compete at that level,” explained the four-time Mr. Olympia. He thought of this as a routine and followed it consistently. Cutler ate 20 egg whites for breakfast, with six or seven meals a day, and used to train twice or four times a day, finding the whole process gratifying. “To me, it was fun. It just my body expanded and I didn’t. I wasn’t like uncomfortable or, oh my goodness, I can’t do this anymore,” he said.

Dieting was the only part of the process that Cutler found tough. Even when he felt hungry, Cutler had to restrict himself from eating many of his favorite foods. “But there’s worse things in your life,” the four-time Mr. Olympia added. He said he remembered playing football in the cold temperatures in November. He found that much harder than training in the gyms for Mr. Olympia.

He emphasized that the consistency of doing everything that was monotonous made him achieve success. He explained people’s perceptions and said,” Oh, that’s way too much work for me and people are afraid to work and they never lived it. So that’s why there’s no crossover.”
