Bousquet won the over 60 Bikini Masters category at Muscle Contest 2023. Recently, she took to her social media to explain how her journey to the bodybuilding arena was arduous.

Monica Bousquet says the beginning is always hard

The Brazilian bodybuilder’s latest post was a video of her doing crunches while her biceps were flexed. The 61-year-old was pumping those six-pack abs as well. The reps were pretty hard, but she made it look smooth and easy.

Her caption was inspiring and she talked about working hard and going the extra mile. Bousquet did not sugarcoat anything and went straight to the point. She said, “The beginning is always difficult in any construction of your life: be it a house, a project, a college…”

She also declared that the journey being hard was a good thing. She assured her followers and wrote, “I guarantee that the process will be good and it will be sensational when you achieve your goal because this is a lifetime project. How is your life project coming along?” If she can chase her dream of bodybuilding at 61, why can’t anyone else?

Bousquet chased her dream and found success

Bousquet found achievements shortly after starting her bodybuilding career and it empowered her to participate in more competitions. 

The influencer was not into fitness when she was younger and struggled with stabilizing her weight throughout her youth. In a video from September 2023, she opened up about her past and revealed that she suffered from body image issues. However, after turning 53, the fitness enthusiast and bodybuilder decided that she had to make drastic changes and stick to them, leading to her transformation.
