Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s role as a Cyborg assassin from the future in his movie series Terminator is undoubtedly one of his most successful acting ventures. Years later, when the actor was asked about his favorite action movie, he talked about the James Cameron movie, while also divulging some interesting details that had to do with the movie and his ex-wife.

Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver divorced in 2011 owing to the former athlete’s love affair with their housemaid, Mildred Baena, and also having secretly fathered a child. That being said the former couple is still bound by some of the legal obligations that let Shriver derive some benefits from Arnie’s movie Terminator, even to this date. Let us see what these are.

Arnold Schwarzenegger still gets profit shares from his old movies

In one of the recent episodes of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Arnold Schwarzenegger encountered ‘The Colbert Questionert’. The former bodybuilder was bombarded with questions that he had to instantly answer. When Colbert asked him what his favorite action movie was, interestingly, The Austrian Oak emphasized Titanic as being his favorite movie, whether action movie or not. Then he proceeded to mention that if ‘action’ is the specific genre Colbert was looking for, it was Terminator 2.

Schwarzenegger also mentioned how he still gets profits from the movie. He stated, “I get residuals. So if you all go and see it again, I get residuals again.” Then the fitness icon stopped for a moment and said out loud how his wife still gets half of the profits as an advantage out of their divorce. He remarked, “My wife gets half. What the hell.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character as the Terminator has almost become an archetypal icon. The character traveled way beyond just the set of the movie and at one point was even a part of a famous music video.

Terminator in Guns N’ Roses music video

To promote his movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator was featured in one of Guns N’ Roses’ famous music videos called, “You Could Be Mine.” The former bodybuilder and actor has always confessed to being a GnR fan and when he got the chance to share the screen with his favorite band members, he took it. Even in the movie, there are a few references to the band, including the scene where Arnie pulls a Gun out of a box of roses.
