Alex Eubank found himself at death’s door around ten months ago. The bodybuilding enthusiast was about to start his bulking phase when he learned about a 72-hour liquid fast. So, Eubank did a water/tea/coffee fast to cleanse his body before starting the bulk. However, Eubank felt he would die 24 hours into the fast, even leading to the then-23-year-old having to be hospitalized.

While the bodybuilder made a full recovery, Eubank recounted his frightening experience. “My mind was completely 100% aware of what was happening but I could not control my body at all,” said the fitness influencer. However, Alex Eubank hasn’t shied away from fasting despite his experience. In fact, in his latest video, Eubank revealed that he was going to attempt another 72-hour fast.

However, unlike his first time, the bodybuilding sensation didn’t want to publicize his 72-hour fast before attempting it. “People (are) probably going to think, ‘Yo! You have a bad track record,'” said the fitness YouTuber. “I want to make sure I do it first before announcing that I’m doing it,” said Alex Eubank because he didn’t want people to “flame” him for repeating his mistake.

However, this time, the fast has been much better for Alex Eubank. Although the 24-year-old started fasting, he hasn’t stopped training. Eubank updated fans about his health after nearly 24 hours of only drinking liquids. However, this time, he made sure to get some electrolytes after his training session. Eubank’s latest video only captured the first 32 hours of his fast.

He also revealed one of the reasons he fell ill during his attempt last year. “I wasn’t doing right by electrolytes and all that. So I’m already about to take my third electrolyte packet. I’m feeling good,” said Alex Eubank. While he is doing everything right, he hasn’t shaken off how everything went wrong last time.

Alex Eubank had to call 911 after his first attempt

Last year, the fitness influencer didn’t take enough electrolytes, vitamins, or minerals during his fast. And this is why he started feeling the effects after 24 hours while sitting in the movie theater. According to Eubank, he started feeling uneasy when his lips left numb. Yet, that was just the beginning of what turned into a medical emergency.

“Then it started to get my hands, my arms, my legs, my stomach, my back, my chest, everything started to get numb,” confessed Eubank. The bodybuilder could barely speak and couldn’t move his body. He called 911, and an ambulance arrived to. When they put him on the stretcher, he thought he would die, but thankfully averted disaster.

Since Alex Eubank wasn’t successful during his first attempt, he seems far more cautious this time. However, we’ll have to wait for his next video to know how the rest of the fast turns out for him.
