IFBB pro, Mike O’Hearn has consistently described MMA legend, Bruce Lee as his idol while growing up. While he has added mentions of other notable athletes, the Hong Kong star’s name was a constant. Having learned Judo in the past, it is explicit why O’Hearn idolizes Lee. However, a fan’s question urged the bodybuilder to reveal the greatest match-up in time, he would have loved to watch, if possible.

O’Hearn regularly takes to his official YouTube channel and answers random questions thrown at him by fans virtually, in live telecasts. Hence, a particular query asked him the most ideal match he would’ve chosen to attend ever. His response involved, Lee, of course, and another legend from a different sphere.

Mike O’Hearn wished to see two legends fight

As per the video posted only hours ago on the platform, the 54-year-old athlete took a moment to rightly curate his answer. The question stated, “If you can attend any sporting event that has ever existed in time and have the best seat in the house, what would you choose to attend to watch?” 

O’Hearn initially revealed that watching boxing legend, Muhammad Ali fight would be an ideal sporting event for him. However, he eventually thought of a more accurate response. He expressed his ardent love for his lifelong idol, Lee, and reminisced about his time in Long Beach, California, when he was competing at the Kenpo Tournaments.

but if there was ever a possibility to be present of watching Bruce Lee do a tournament or a fight when he was in Long Beach at the Kenpo tournaments, I would have loved to have seen Bruce Lee actually be in the ring that would be the ultimate thing for me to see,” the athlete shared. On a similar note, the former Mr. Universe also disclosed that he never only wanted to be a bodybuilder recently. 

Mike O’Hearn aspired to be more than a bodybuilder

A similar live telecast on YouTube revealed another surprising aspect of O’Hearn’s ambitions. He took the initiative to break it to his fans that he never intended on limiting himself to the sport of bodybuilding. While iterating the compromises he made to chase his dream, the pro let out, “I never wanted the one dimension. I never wanted to be just a bodybuilder…”

Furthermore, he claimed that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Lee were the heroes he idolized. Given his background in bodybuilding and martial arts as well. Hence, he concluded his statement by saying the athlete wanted to be more than just a “cookie-cutter bodybuilder.”
