Parenting is a daunting task, even for the Terminator himself. Arnold Schwarzenegger has, on numerous occasions, spoken about his hesitation to become a parent. Yet when he indeed became one, that too of 5 children eventually, he was born anew. Even after winning 7 Mr. Olympia titles and becoming the 38th Governor of California, Arnie was never an absent father.

Schwarzenegger understands how a child’s psychology gets affected by observing their parent’s behavior, towards them and also towards each other. Oftentimes, the Terminator actor shares old memories from when he first became a father, and with the addition to the family and his becoming a grandfather, the stories keep piling up.

Schwarzenegger’s advice to a new father

In his newsletter, when a fan asked him about a tip for a father, Arnie instantly told him to be in agreement with the mother, at least in front of the kids. He stated, “You can have disagreements over parenting when you’re alone, but in front of the kids it is always a united front.”

Additionally, he also talked about how mothers often trust themselves over their fathers. He quoted, “It is totally normal for mom to do a little gatekeeping, and she might not trust you with something.”

He also added to his statement how he let his wife gate keep the first kid. “… with my second daughter, I changed every diaper I could and didn’t let myself be second fiddle.”

It is no secret how Arnold Schwarzenegger felt before turning into a father. However, on many occasions, he has honestly talked about how it changed his entire perception about parenthood.

In one of his interviews with motivational speaker, Jay Shetty, Schwarzenegger talked about his experience as a father. Proud as he has been about his children, Arnie has always talked about how it feels to become a parent. Stating how having children could be a fun experience, he said, ?It?s just it?s a lot of fun. I never thought that having kids would be that much fun?.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has proved to have always prioritized his children over other things. So much so that he still considers that the bond he has with his ex-wife is because of his children. And so, he has always preached the goodness of becoming a father.
