The reigning King of Classic Physique, Chris Bumstead, discussed what he has done to treat his injuries. While traditional medicine gave him a certain time frame for recovery, stem cells helped him recover a few months earlier.

“Some injuries have healed faster than an injury should,” said Bumstead. “I tore my bicep two years ago before the Olympia. (I) Got stem cells in that and it healed in like six weeks,” revealed the five-time champion. Chris Bumstead may have spoken about his bicep injury before the 2022 Mr. Olympia. While it was visible on stage in 2022, his bicep looked perfect in 2023.

Bicep injuries have several degrees of severity. While it takes many months and surgery to heal severe tears, minor tears may not require surgery. However, the injury often permanently changes the shape of the muscle. Yet, stem cell therapy not only repaired CBum’s bicep, it didn’t leave a mark. Chris Bumstead also spoke about other benefits that come with the treatment.

The bodybuilding champion suffers from an autoimmune disease. The symptoms may flare up without warning and nearly cost Chris Bumstead his title since. However, stem cell therapy helped him battle his autoimmune condition as well. “I haven’t had any flare-ups or inflammation or anything like that since I started doing that consistently,” confessed the 29-year-old. However, CBum’s new coach is also helping him.

Chris Bumstead gave his injuries some special attention

Over the years, Chris Bumstead has suffered multiple injuries, including bicep, lats, and quad muscle tears, and some joint issues as well. So after winning his fifth Classic Physique Olympia title, the bodybuilding icon teamed up with Just King for specialized training. While Hany Rambod remains his main trainer, King’s job is to help Bumstead fix his “broken body.”

Justin King uses unconventional methods to make sure the bodybuilders he coaches make gains and rehab their old injuries. Instead of jumping into offseason prep to earn his sixth Classic Physique Olympia, Chris Bumstead took time to rehab his discomfort from old injuries. Bumstead is now training under both trainers to improve and prevent further injuries.
