Sam Sulek is a 21-year-old bodybuilding sensation who garnered quite the attention on social media. He went viral because of his massive, muscular young physique. Even the exercise scientist, Dr. Mike Israetel, pointed out errors in the range of motion while he was pulling off one of his exercises. Here’s what happened.

Dr. Mike Israetel recently took to his official social media handle and shared a video where Sam Sulek was bench pressing. He said, “What Sam is doing here is what I would call colloquially moving weight around. It’s fun to be young, jacked, and strong as f**k and just like bully the weights. It’s dope. He also went on to add that the ratio of the stimulus of fatigue and injury is not very ideal.

However, he did not even deny the fact that is also effective but is not very close to ideal. Further, Sulek was seen pulling out the one-hand cable back rows, which seemed to be better in form. Dr. Mike Israetel talks about the risks of getting a ‘devasting’ pec injury

Another time, when Sam Sulek was bench pressing with exceptionally heavy weights, Dr. Mike Israetel pointed out that the stunt was exposed to getting a severe pec injury. He said, “Rapid eccentrics on an incline barbell has in prior cases, resulted in devastating PEC injuries.” Explaining why this happens, he said that the pectoral muscle’s growth is rapid. This might beat the elastic capacity of its tendons.
