During his Olympia preps, Derek Lunsford had made a huge announcement about how he was soon going to be a father soon. Now that he has become a dad to a girl, the reigning Mr. Olympia can often be seen at home, spending quality time with his family. Yet he still maintains his fitness regime and implores his wife to join in his passions as well.

Lunsford, who is about to turn 31 in a few days, recently shared a wholesome moment while helping his wife train in the house. Even though Mabaga is a physical therapist herself, she showed how difficult it was to follow the intense routine of an Olympia champion.

Derek Lunsford’s wife says the whole family joins her training session

In one of her Instagram stories, Jhelsin Mabaga shared a clip from her home. She was seen lifting some weights but reluctant to continue and hence started keeping back the weight she already picked up. Mabaga then slowly proceeded towards her baby girl who near Derek Lunsford, along with their pet dog. She thus wrote in the caption of her story, “Look the whole family joining me in my workout.”

However, as much as Derek Lunsford wanted his wife to do a little more weightlifting and kept on boosting her determination, his wife said no to him in light humor. In fact, she also wrote about how her husband was trying to be her trainer, “POV When your husband thinks he can be your trainer.” Then she further gave a reason why her husband should not be strict with her, “I’m just a girl… don’t yell at me.”

After becoming a father for the first time in his life, Derek Lunsford had revealed how he was concerned for his wife at the time of her delivery.

Derek Lunsford ‘lost it’ after the birth of his baby

In one of his interviews, Lunsford revealed how both his baby and wife were healthy after the delivery. The bodybuilder also confessed how he already started taking up parental duties. He said, “I’ve changed more dirty diapers in the last two weeks than I ever imagined I would in my lifetime.”

The bodybuilder also recalled how he had cried a lot at the time of the delivery when his wife had been pushing for 3 hours, after which they had to finally do a c-section. He reflected how despite having the best doctors, he was worried about his wife, “I lost it. I lost it. I’m worried about my wife because not I mean we have amazing doctors amazing nurses anesthesiologists everybody at this hospital was next level like the best around best in the State of Florida but it was like an intense moment.”
