Social media fitness influencer Larry Wheels has transcended more than one sport. Wheels had dipped his toes in three different sports, from bodybuilding to powerlifting and arm wrestling. However, the world powerlifter isn’t a jack of all trades. In 2020, Wheels climbed to the top of the powerlifting mountain, setting a world record of 2,370 lbs total lift record. However, the bodybuilder is also reckless on occasion.

A lift that was all risk and no reward

Earlier today, the powerlift who is preparing to compete in a classic physique competition uploaded a video. The powerlifter often uploads workout videos. However, the thumbnail was concerning as it showed a barbell falling on his legs. Tapping play revealed what had transpired before the weight fell on Larry Wheels’s legs.

In the video, the arm wrestling enthusiast held a barbell with two plates on each side while a spotter stood behind him. However, Wheels held the barbell with one arm instead of a conventional, inclined bench press. While he used elbow and wrist wraps to brace for the lift, it didn’t help. Using the thumb under the bar suicide grip might have also contributed to the failed lift.
