Never afraid to voice his opinions, Schwarzenegger appeared on the Stephen Colbert Show to discuss various things in life. Apart from the hilarious conversations, they discussed the political scenario and the world’s current state.

They spoke about various political ideologies in Russia, and Arnie pointed out how politicians today are not brave. He gave the example of an eminent president of the Soviet Union and talked about his mettle.

Arnold Schwarzenegger talks about President Gorbachev

When the question came to whether Arnie asked for anyone’s autograph, he answered that he was a fan of Gorbachev and his ideals. He said, “It was a fantastic kind of leadership that he showed, and I always admire that because our politicians don’t have any courage. They don’t dare to do any of that, you know.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger took his name and said he was the one guy he admired while applauding the boldness of the late president. Arnie mentioned, “He had to go and to dismantle communism in Russia. Because as a guy who grew up with communism and is climbing that ladder, the Communist Party, all the way to the top until he becomes president. And then to see that it doesn’t work and then to go and say ‘Guys, we got to dismantle this. This is all wrong'”.

The audience applauded his perspective and cheered for the ideals that Arnie showed. Not to mention, he also said that he could become a great president as well.

Arnold wanted to become president

He declared one day that he could become a great president. Howard Stern had asked the FUBAR star if the law prohibiting people born outside America from running for president frustrated the Governator. He said, “I felt kind of like everything that I’ve accomplished in my life… all because of America.”

He showcased confidence in his leadership skills and said, “I think that I would have made a great president.” Despite stepping away from the political scenario, Arnold Schwarzenegger still visits the Washington lobby for the programs he had set up as the governor.
