On August 9, 2023, a Plymouth bodybuilder sadly passed away at his home, sparking suspicions. The Plymouth Coroner’s Court started an investigation and revealed the cause of his death. The 49-year-old Matthew Beddow’s untimely demise saddened his close ones. He was a well-known bodybuilder locally for his passion for bodybuilding.
Recently, a story emerged about his heroism when he saved two women’s lives many years ago. Even though he was praised back then after the incident, now after hearing of his death, these women have paid a fitting tribute to him. They shared an incident where he courageously rescued them. Despite the consequences that he faced afterwards.

Matthew Beddow once saved two women from a dog attack
In an interview with Plymouth Herald, one of the women spoke and praised Beddow and another person who came to their aid. She further said that she owed her life to these men. They fearlessly rescued her. Her revelation about her hospitalization also shocked people. On her first day when she was hospitalized, it took almost 7 hours for surgery and afterward another operational treatment was required.
“I owe Matt my life. If it wasn’t for him I could be dead. He kept me calm throughout and told me everything would be alright. He stopped that dog from moving his teeth to my face or throat.”The court got involved in his untimely demise
Beddow passed away in August at his home on Granby Street. He was found unconscious and his friends took him to the hospital, where he was declared dead. Regardless, an investigation took place. The first hearing happened on 5 September, when the court launched an investigation.
According to the Coroner’s office, at the time of his death, Beddow was alone at his home. He was unemployed for a long time, due to his poor health. The coroner mentioned that a post-mortem examination happened, but they needed more investigation for more clarity on the cause of his death.
After the initial investigation, it was proved that there were no suspicious reasons for his death. The hearing will take place later on.
