Los Angeles Lakers have traded Kyle Kuzma to Washington Wizards in a five-team trade. It was a bittersweet moment for Kuzma, who has left the Lakers after spending four seasons with them. However, there are no hard feelings between him and the franchise. In a recent interview, he revealed the Lakers legends who helped him settle.
Brooklyn Nets selected Kyle Kuzma as the 27th overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft. However, he was traded to the Lakers in a draft-day trade deal. Kyle signed with the Lakers and quickly impressed the management in the 2017 Summer League. He also won the Summer League championship game MVP that season. Coach Luke Walton was impressed with his performance and Kyle became an integral piece of the Lakers roster in his rookie season.

Kyle Kuzma reveals the Los Angeles Lakers legends who helped him settle
Kyle Kuzma recently appeared for an interview on Fubo TV’s “No Chill with Gilbert Arenas” show. He talked about his trade to Wizards, Lakers experience, NBA bubble, among others. Kyle was asked about the Lakers legends who took him under their wing and served as a mentor to him.
“It’s crazy,” Kyle Kuzma said.
“Jeanie does a great job of making everything family over there. It’s really a family. I’ve talked to everyone and part of that’s because of who I am. I’m inquisitive, I want to ask questions, I want to see what you saw back in your day because that’s where I’m trying to get to.
“So, having cold talking to Shaq, James, Horry’s there. You see so many different eras of Laker greats and they all want to see you do successful because of the brand and it’s with is really within you.”
Kyle established himself as a fan favorite after his rookie season with the Lakers and made it to NBA All-Rookie First Team. In his second season, he became a key member of the Lakers core and started 68 of the 70 games he played in the regular season. He averaged 18.7 PPG, 2.5 APG, 5.5 RPG in the 2018-19 NBA season.
Even though he didn’t start many games in the 2019-20 season, he helped the team from the bench and won his first NBA championship. As there are no hard feelings between Kyle and the Lakers, a potential return could happen in the future.
