Despite this, Serena Williams’ former coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, backed him to come back stronger.

Opening up about this, he said, “No one knows my game the way I know my game. I know what I need to improve on. I know what my strengths are. But also it’s just a waste of money. In my opinion, a lot of coaches are like, charging like 150 to 200 grand a year. I’m like, for what, like, you stand there and like, like I do my own study.”

Meanwhile, Patrick Mouratoglou was asked if he would like to coach Kyrgios. While Mouratoglou respected Kyrgios’ decision to not have a coach, he revealed that the Australian star would be one of the most exciting guys to coach, hinting about future collaboration.

However, it remains uncertain when Kyrgios will be back on the court. While he is recovering from his injuries, he once dropped a major hint about his retirement shortly.

Kyrgios to retire shortly?

Despite being away from the tennis court, Kyrgios has never failed to stay away from the limelight. During an interview last year, he made clear his future priorities while talking about his career.

He said, “The schedule is out of control, bro!! I’m getting old. 28. But with all the drinking and partying, I’m 57. 33 is insane. I’m not playing till I’m 33. Once I’m gone, you’ll never see me again.”

Kyrgios is already 28 and going by his words, it looks like the end is near for him. Additionally, he will be involved at the Australian Open as a commentator, further fueling retirement speculations. Nonetheless, only Kyrgios knows if he’s ever going to play tennis again.
