Recently, after defeating Minaur, the 22-time Grand Slam champion, in an interview with the tennis channel, talked about his long-standing thoughts of having his son watch him play tennis. At first, he highlighted how being “a father is a completely different thing.”

Further, with a smile and a glint in his eyes, he told about his son and how it’s amazing to play in front of him even though he doesn’t understand the game. He stated, “I mean the the feeling is completely different to to anything else. So just have the chance to see him, watching me play even if it’s for a just short period of time and doesn’t matter if probably he doesn’t know any anything about what happened. you know that’s stays there and for me is a is a great memory.”
Even though the former world number one is clearly aware of the fact that Rafa Jr. might not remember a lot of things, he is grateful to just have him watch his father play. However, earlier in the tournament, he detailed how he wanted to play a little bit longer just for his son.
Just a few days ago, Nadal stated, “Well, I would love to play a little bit longer and give him a memory of myself playing tennis. That’s what will be the ideal thing for me and for my wife and family.” Subsequently, he also revealed why having his son on tour with him helps.
