Czech-American former tennis player, Ivan Lendl has sold his 445-acre Connecticut Estate for a staggering $12 M. The mansion has been on and off the market for several years and the sale of this 20-roomed mansion is now the highest ever in Litchfield County.

The deal was closed on Thursday and it surpassed the previous record which was just a little short of $11.5 M, according to the listing agent. In the heart of Litchfield Hills is one of the finest of architecture, Cornwall Connecticut was initially listed for $25 M in 2005 and has gone through a series of price cuts according to several published reports. 

Ivan Lendl seals the deal for a whopping $ 12 million

This Georgian Federal-style mansion was built by architect Allan Greenberg for Ivan Lendl and his wife Samantha in 1992. It has 18,000 sq. ft of interior with 10 bedrooms, 3 partial bedrooms, and 12 full bathrooms. According to the listings, this four-level 20-room mansion has indoor amenities such as a pool adjoining two locker rooms, a workout room, a sauna, and a full-sized gym.

The outdoors features a long winding driveway leading up to the storehouse, a three-bedroom caretaker’s cottage, and a heated gunite pool with a cabana. The listing agent- Elyse Harney Morris said, “The house has been off and on the market for about eight years.” It also has grounds which include a tennis court, a play court, a pond, a vegetable garden, a generator and equestrian facilities.

Lendl and his family have quite a lot of memories surrounding this property. According to Morris, this was once their full-time home. But as the kids grew up, they started moving to Florida and this became their summer-fall house. The main floor of the house features a foyer with a grand staircase, formal living and dining rooms, a trophy cum office room, a wood-paneled library, and many more.

The second floor also has an office with a paladin window and a children’s library plus three additional en-suite bedrooms. The lower floor also has a wine cellar according to the listings. Almost 5 months back, Ivan Lendl had also put his Bradenton, Florida home on the market.

Lendl lists his Florida home for $900 K

This house sits close to Anna Maria Island’s beautiful beaches. It was built in 1989 and the house offers an abundance of luxurious amenities. The 3027 sq. ft, four-bedroom residence covers more than a quarter-acre. Its location is very close to the IMG Sports Academy and Golf Club and also to the State College of Florida Bradenton.

The house has a large living room with sliding glass doors that opens up to a swimming pool. Its title floors and soaring ceiling create a bright and airy feeling. The kitchen has all the top-notch appliances an oversized center island and a curved countertop. Further inside the house, there are 4 large bedrooms with big windows, huge sloped ceilings, and en suite bathrooms. 

Ivan Lendl retired from tennis almost 30 years ago. Currently the 8-time Grand Slam champion and the ‘Father of Modern Tennis’ lives with his wife and children in Florida.
