….I will just post this clip of the final score in my heartbreaking 21-19 loss to Jordan,” Taylor Fritz wrote on his Instagram story last October after a narrow loss to his son Jordan in an indoor basketball match. Amid his hectic schedule, the American No. 1 hardly gets time to bond with his son, but he made sure to make full use of his time off after the Shanghai Masters last year, and although he lost the match, it was all “worth it” for Fritz. But hey, it’s not just basketball that his son Jordan is good at. The little guy is turning heads again, this time playing a different sport. And not indoors!

Taylor Fritz, the 2024 US Open finalist and one of America’s top ATP players, stepped into fatherhood early, welcoming his son Jordan in January 2017 with then-wife Raquel Pedraza. At just 19, Fritz was still carving out his path in professional tennis while navigating the challenges of young parenthood. The current World No. 4 often credits his ex-wife Pedraza for helping him balance the demands of the tour and family life. Through it all, Fritz has realized that being a father has taught him just as much off the court as tennis has done on it, shaping his character, patience, and sense of purpose.

“I do have more things to manage now, and I definitely had to grow up fast, but it was always going to be like that anyway. I was traveling the world when I was 17 to play tennis,” Fritz said while talking to Haute Living in August 2023.

While Taylor continues to rise in the tennis world, it’s Jordan who’s stealing the spotlight for now. Spoiler alert: the Fritz dynasty may soon be known for brilliance beyond the baseline.

Just a while back, Fritz shared a heartwarming IG story featuring his son, Jordan, playing on a muddy soccer field. The clip captured a glimpse of the action, with the scoreline reading 4–1. Beaming with pride, Fritz captioned it, “4-1, 2 goals 1 Assist, Fritz sports dynasty loading 😂,” showing his unwavering support for his son from the sidelines.

This isn’t the first time he has been seen cherishing family moments off the court. On December 24 last year, the World No. 4 celebrated an early Christmas with Jordan, sharing festive photos on IG before heading off to Australia for the upcoming tennis season. “Celebrating Christmas early every year before I have to go to AUS. Merry Christmas and happy holidays from the Fritz boys,” he wrote.

Even back in 2020, during a candid chat with Interview Magazine, Taylor opened up about how the COVID-19 lockdown turned into a silver lining. “I took about a month off to just do nothing. And I felt like I really needed that. I haven’t had time like that in five years. And when I say nothing, I mean that I wasn’t playing tennis or working out. Instead, I spent time being with my son, sleeping in, and playing video games,” he said.

Fritz is currently struggling with his fitness and is not in action at the Monte Carlo. But as he stays away from the court, who is turning out to be his surprise emotional anchor?

Taylor Fritz reveals the key source of emotional support helping him through his injury setbacks

Despite battling through pain and injury, Taylor Fritz pushed himself to compete at the Delray Beach Open, reaching the QFs before falling to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Determined to stay in the mix, the 27-year-old continued his campaign at two ATP Masters 1000 events: Indian Wells and the Miami Open. In California, Fritz defeated Matteo Gigante and Alejandro Tabilo before being ousted by eventual champion Jack Draper in the fourth round.

In Miami, Fritz delivered a strong run, securing wins over Lorenzo Sonego, Denis Shapovalov, Adam Walton, and Matteo Berrettini. However, his journey ended in the SFs, where he was beaten by breakout star Jakub Mensik. Shortly after, the American announced his withdrawal from the 2025 Monte-Carlo Masters because of an abdominal injury, opting to prioritize recovery.

While recuperating at home, Fritz recently gave fans a glimpse into his downtime by sharing adorable videos of two black kittens he’s been fostering. The clips showed him playing with the kittens on the sofa, revealing a softer, more personal side as he recovers off-court, as he wrote, “Injury emotional support foster kitties,” in his IG story.

Looking ahead, Fritz is expected to return at the 2025 Madrid Open, set for April 23 to May 4. However, the big question remains: can he bounce back on clay and finally clinch his first title of the season?
