Even though he is in the twilight of his tennis journey, Corretja recently asserted that his compatriot will be dreaming of winning an Olympic medal for his country. Meanwhile, the ATP veteran also opened up about how Nadal’s chances of clinching a medal are very high as certain things are in his favor.

There is a lot of skepticism surrounding the 22-time singles Grand Slam champion’s comeback on the tour owing to his near-season-long injury absence. However, despite all the doubts about Nadal’s fitness levels, Àlex Corretja recently claimed that his compatriot has a shot at winning an Olympic medal in the next season.

If Nadal and Alcaraz team up for the Olympic doubles event, their partnership can be ‘explosive,’ according to their compatriot, Corretja. Even though the ATP superstars do not know each other so well, the former world No. 2 player is still certain that their team-up can be exciting as they both are ‘winners.’  In the same interview, Corretja said, “Although they do not know each other so well because they have coincided little in the circuit, I am convinced that the chemistry would be brutal.”
