Nick Kyrgios recently posted about Thanasi Kokkinakis on his official social media account and even called him his ‘brother’. Even though he has made amends with him now, there was a time in the last year when the two were not on good terms so much so that Thanasi Kokkinakis even shared in his interviews that he had to go through sleeplessness nights because of the Aussie bad boy.

And all this started when Kyrgios made a comment about Stan Wawrinka’s girlfriend and how she had dated Thanasi Kokkinakis before him. As decent as we made it sound, Kyrgios used not-so-appropriate language to convey the same.

Nick Kyrgios had made a brutal comment about Stan Wawrinka’s girlfriend Donna Vekic and how she had been in a relationship with Thanasi Kokkinakis before. After he commented, Kokkinakis was haggled by the media a lot due to which he suffered a lot of sleepless nights.

He shared in an interview, “I haven’t gotten much sleep on the nights.  let him know. I made it pretty clear that he can’t be doing that. If he’s got a problem, he’s got to say it in private. The way he went about it definitely wasn’t the right thing. Obviously, he shouldn’t have said what he said under the circumstances.”

However now it seems like things have turned around as Nick Kyrgios tweeted about his ‘brother’ Thanasi Kokkinakis on Twitter. He wrote, “Beautiful person and my brother till the end. What a memory! no matter what these slugs say, my name will be there. Thank you.”

Before this incident went down, the two of them had a great relationship with each other. They even played and won at the Australian Open 2022 in Melbourne and had great things to say about each other.

Kyrgios shared a positive message for Kokkinakis after winning in 2022

After winning the tournament, both of them posed along with a trophy under which Nick Kyrgios wrote, “Kyriakis” which is a combination of both their names. He also wrote, “I guess I can draw some inspiration from someone like Thanasi who has had a bunch of injuries and has bounced back.”

Not only was he appreciative of him, but he also implied how much fun he had playing with Kokkinakis. However, the controversy related to Donna Vekic didn’t help and stressed things out between them.
