However, he is well aware of the prowess that the 20-year-old Spaniard carries inside him. Daniil Medvedev got the best of him in the semi-finals, but Djokovic still feels that Alcaraz has a lot to offer to the sport. The Serbian tennis legend has praised the Spanish player on multiple occasions for his resilience.

The Spanish tennis star has proved his worth on the court by getting two Grand Slam titles under his name. More importantly, one of them was achieved by defeating the Serbian tennis legend, Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic has faced Alcaraz quite a few times. He knows what the young player brings to the table. In his post-match conference at the Davis Cup, he stated, “He is one of the most impressive players that I have ever faced in my life, no doubt. Very complete in every aspect.”

Furthermore, he also complimented the behind-the-scenes members who have contributed to Alcaraz’s success. Djokovic added, “Also, very nice guy, great family, great team.”

Concluding all this, he feels Alcaraz is bringing a good name to the sport. He made his verdict and concluded, “So, he is a perfect ambassador for our sport so far. If he is going to continue like this, he is going to carry the tennis.”
