Murray advised that given South America’s intense liking toward tennis, the ATP and WTA should consider doing more tournaments there. Now South American tournaments are attracting big players like Carlos Alcaraz who participated in the recent ATP 250 Doha Open tournament. In a recent tweet, Murray expressed the thought that South America deserves its own Masters series with dedicated tennis tournament swings since the people there are passionate about the sport. Speaking about it, Murray wrote- “Unpopular opinion  South America should have its own dedicated swing on the tennis tour with its own masters series. The way the fans support the tournaments there is incredible. Amazing atmospheres and is clearly part of their sporting culture. Vamos @atptour!”

Andy Murray’s wish received support from veteran tennis coach Boris Becker. He said-“Why unpopular?!? You’re absolutely right about your opinion Andy! Tennis should go to countries/continents where tennis is booming…”

Murray’s statements have logic since some of the best tennis players are participating in South American tennis tournaments. For example, Cameron Norrie, and Stanislas Wawrinka also attended tennis tournaments in Southern America. Now tennis fans can see the growing influence of Saudi Arabia in ATP’s activities. Following that, Murray thought South America also deserves to have better tennis tournaments.

Another German tennis player Diego Schwartzman also supported Murray’s opinion: “Let’s let the ATP know this, Andy. Every year they give us less support. Not only because of how the fans support the tournaments, but also because of the number of top players we have and had in the past, as you know. We deserve more from the ATP. Thank you very much for your words,”

An American former Tennis player John Isner also supported Andy Murray: “I second this. A masters series in South America would make for an insane atmosphere.”

So, eventually, Murray’s wish has brought many tennis stalwarts to raise their support for South American tennis tournaments. Even Alcaraz commented this year that he felt Buenos Aires improved a lot this year to become an ATP 500 tournament.
