The Australian Nick Kyrgios was away from the sport since Laver Cup 2021. During his sabbatical, he has engaged himself more on social media platforms. In a recent Instagram post, Kyrgios penned down an emotional message for his idol and basketball legend, Kobe Bryant.

Also known as “Black Mamba”, Bryant died in an unfortunate helicopter crash on January 26, 2020. Nick Kyrgios, Novak Djokovic, Naomi Osaka, and many others paid homage to Kobe Bryant during that time.

Nick Kyrgios wrote a heartfelt message regarding Kobe Bryant

It’s no secret that Nick Kyrgios was a huge admirer of the basketball great Kobe Bryant. On several occasions, he has been outspoken regarding his love for the player. Recently, Kyrgios took to Instagram to share a touching post. It seems like since Bryant passed away, the Australian has been missing him more.

” I f****** miss Kobe man don’t take any day for granted… it all can be taken away instantly, this life is beautiful, enjoy it with the ones you love, the ones that make you laugh and smile,” wrote Nick Kyrgios.

Kyrgios sported the Los Angeles Lakers jersey in the photos, the team with which Kobe spent his entire 20-year career. Apart from Kyrgios, Novak Djokovic is also a huge fan of Kobe Bryant. He even paid tribute to him after lifting his eighth Australian Open title in 2020.

Kyrgios to make a comeback

Nick Kyrgios has not competed on the ATP tour since Laver Cup 2021. He traveled back to Australia to concentrate on his knee injury. However, recently he received a wildcard for the ATP 250 in Melbourne, starting in the first week of January 2022.

The year 2021 was quite a decent year for the Australian with no notable achievements.
